Hog Loppet Volunteers

Thanks to the club members who assisted the Sheriff department in rescue standby for Hog Loppet at bee hive. There was a lot of fresh snow, temperatures cool and skies were clear. There were about 600 cross country skiers participating in Hog Loppet and all but four managed to get through the first half of the course. Those four were transported back to the parking area by either the sheriffs or club members. Word is all who participated as event assist had a great time.

Tollgate, OR Ride Suspended

The club ride to Tollgate was suspended due to inclement weather. Special thanks from other club members to the Deals and Downs for checking it out early and updating the rest of us with a real time weather report. We would still like to venture down to Tollgate one weekend or maybe go the North Cascades highway when the avalanche danger has lessened. If any one is interested please call Randy 630-7290.

“Pink Feat”

Thanks to all club members who joined in the 2nd annual Fun Run at Fish Lake on February 12th. The benefit was sponsored by “Pink Feat” to raise money for Susan G Koman Foundation to fight Breast Cancer. The registration fee included a t-shirt, lunch and bucket run. There was an incredible silent auction with a whole host of snowmobile accessories and gift baskets. I personally came home with a very nice wine basket. There was also a raffle and items to purchase. If you were not able to be there this year mark it on your calendars for next year and join other snowmobilers in supporting a good cause.

We Have Snow Again!

This last storm brought enough snow to our local mountains leaving 4-6 inches in the parking areas. Word is 5 minutes away from the parking lot one will get into some good snow on the trail and at the top 2-3 ft of fresh powder. And what’s even better is more snow is due this week! Grooming will begin again on Monday. There is also talk about opening up the Brueton Rd trail to the Petit.
