Location:  Grouse Creek Group Site off Chewawa Loop Rd near Lake Wenatchee

Cost: $20 for entire 4 days of camping. Contact Bob Lortie 421-0665 or 421-2497 no later than May 15, 2012 for reservations. (there is no fee for driving up for the day)

ACSC is providing steak and baked potatoes for the Saturday night potluck.  Bring a salad or desert to share. The dinner and meeting begins at 5:00 p.m.

Be sure and bring interesting, hilarious or incriminating photos to share. The photo albums from past years will also be available for reminiscing.  Interesting stories for the current year are also needed  to present as we will be voting on the “Golden Egg” and “Snowmobiler of the Year” awards. If you find interest in club functions we will also be having our annual voting of officers.  A camp wide Sunday AM breakfast cookout has always been lots of fun before breaking camp. Bring anything you would like for sharing, whether it is bacon, eggs, fruit, muffins etc. Pancakes will be provided, and there will be leftover baked potatoes for hash browns.

Camping Details:  There is no electricity or potable water at the campsite, check in time is 3:00 p.m. and checkout 12:00 p.m. The campground has been enlarged and is listed as a 30 unit site and has a forest service restroom available.

Directions: From Coles Corner, take Hwy 207 past Lake Wenatchee State Park and turn right onto the Chiwawa Loop Rd. About 1/4 mile past the Midway Gas Station and Grocery Store turn left onto Chiwawa River Rd (on some maps Meadow Creek Rd). Go past Fish Lake. Road is now Forest Service Rd #6200.  Grouse Creek Campground is located approximately 7 miles once you turn on Chiwawa River Rd.  There is a spur road just off the main paved road on the left as you drive up the valley. The campground is at the end of the spur road behind the gate along Grouse Creek on left side of road #6200.  If you get to a primitive road prior to turning off onto the unpaved spur you have traveled too far. Forest Service Rd #6200 becomes unpaved and ends at the Trinity town site.

The club will be celebrating our 40^thanniversary (more or less.)

All current, former and future members are invited. If you’re not a camper come up for the day on Saturday to share stories with your fellow snowmobilers. The only requirement is a salad or desert and a willingness to have FUN!

02/24/2012 Grooming for Hogloppit. Heavy drifts but few blow downs allowed Cal to punch out the Bee Hive Road with out too much drama. Afterwards, John and Marty treated the outriders to another boon docking class. Rumor has it that one of the riders was bucked off his sled. Won’t say who it was, but I’m ok now.

02-25-2012 Hogloppit. The crew showed up at the Bee Hive parking area at 7:00AM. The Skiers however, were not so tough. The wind exceeded the safety limits for Mission Ridge and the whole thing was cancelled. Even though we groomed the prior day, parts of the road were almost drifted shut. After a brief and windblown stop, the Organizers sent us home. The organizers worked really hard to set this up and we are sorry they had to cancel. Better luck next year.

Saturday February 25th at 7:00am Meet at the snowpark next to Beehive Rd. The Club will be teaming up with the Sheriff’s Dept. to do standby for the cross country skiers. This is one of the rare opportunities for snowmobiliers and skiers to meet in a positive way.  Work should wrap up by 11:oo

We have some new snow, the weekend should be filled with fun!

The Strawns met up with the Rays in Leavenworth for some fun in and around Sugarloaf.
